There are a series of ads appearing on computer pages that state " Mrs. Jones in (your community) made $74,500 in the last 7 months working from her home". When you reply, you find you must send money for information on how it’s done. The person named in your community does not exist, and they follow up the ad with fake testimonials.

If you have actually been defrauded you could file a report with the joint agency Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3)

These scams are everywhere,it’s particularly frustrating to find such ads on these very pages as sponsored results for a Work at Home search, recent ads appearing here include.

Top Work From Home Programs 2010 www.WorkAtHomeCareerNews.com - Work Online And Make Over $1,365 a Week. As seen on CNN, NBC and CNBC

Make $200-$250 Daily From Home www.Chicago-Observer.com - Learn How To Make $9,235 Every Month As Seen On CNN, NBC, Fox & CBS

These are the exact fake newspaper report format that google is suing 50 companies, unfortunately once a profitable model is found they spread like quick reproducing whack-a-moles.

I could not find any obvious mechanism for reporting questionable Yahoo Search Ads, there general abuse report page might have to do. If these advertising providers spent 1/10 of 1% of the ad revenue making sample buys, instead of maintaining plausible deny-ability through ignorance, the amount of such deceptions would be greatly reduced.

There are the occasional lucky, ambitious individual who makes the sort of money mentioned in the testimonial doing internet marketing, the legality of such offers is often in a gray area. Though I can assure you no one makes $6000/mo posting links for google.

Just don’t fall for obvious scams and you will not have to worry about it. Advertisers have used fake testimonials for decades. You just have to be smart enough to identify a scam from a mile away. They are all very obvious with a little common sense.

Well, I am Ms. Amy Shapiro and I have made $60,000 working from home in Florida over the last 20 months. Not $75k in 7 months but at least my money was real! LOL. Be careful of scams. I found my home business through the Better Business Bureau. They had an "A" rating so I knew I could trust them and although I am not "Rich Over Night" (that’s not what I wanted anyway), I make a legitimate income working part time from home as a stay at home mom. $60,000 in 20 months is nothing to sneeze at!

Be careful though! There are a lot of scams! Good luck to you!

(Will the real Amy Shapiro Please stand up!)
